Clubs & Outdoor Pursuits
Clubs and activities start in Reception Class, and by the time children reach the Junior Department the girls are offered a wide range of extra-curricular activities which continue into the Senior School. Clubs range from pony trekking, Brownies and ballet and gardening in the Prep school. In the Senior School the enrichment sessions run for forty minutes each day and include, drama, debating, dance, extra sport and music practices as well as subject based support and extension sessions.
There is a strong Outdoor Pursuits programme which takes them on expeditions away from home and school. Here they can experience activities such as abseiling, dragon boat racing and rock climbing.
In Year 10 girls are encouraged to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme which seeks to provide an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme of personal development for young people.
We also run a World Challenge Expedition. This summer 24 girls and four members of staff climbed up the highest mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal in Morocco, and developed their leadership and team-building skills as they helped refurbish a girls’ school near Marrakesh.
